Sang Jiejia Padmasambhava
The work took half a year to complete, and the artist made the painting while reciting
sutras and preparing materials. The work uses traditional Tibetan mineral pigments, with
turquoise, red coral, and peacock stone as the main colors. Precious mineral gems such
as pearl, agate, cinnabar, as well as natural pigments from plants and animals such as
saffron, rhubarb, and indigo were also used to create the painting, resulting in a highly
detailed and vivid artwork.
Padmasambhava is the embodiment of the accumulation of the three Buddhas of the past,
present, and future, and has descended to the world to benefit all sentient beings. Pad
masambhava embodies wisdom, compassion, and the power to suppress evil, possessing
boundless Dharma power. It is believed that praying to Padmasambhava can bring incon
ceivable merits.
As one of the main founders of Tibetan Buddhism, Padmasambhava is not only one of the
greatest achievers in the history of Buddhism, but also known as the “Second Buddha”.
In order to benefit sentient beings, Padmasambhava appeared in eight different forms,
known as the Eight Incarnations or Eight Transformations of Padmasambhava.The eight
incarnations are Hayagriva, King of the Lotus, Adhipati, Simhanada, Sakyasimha, Ravi,
Vajrapani, and Bhima Sena. Each transformation represents a different stage and story
in the life of Lianhua Sheng, which took place in different locations.

Sang Jiejia
Sang Jiejia, male, Tu ethnic group of China, was born in March 1986 in Wutun Shangzhuang,
Longwu Town, Tongren City, Huangnan Prefecture, Qinghai Province. As a child, he studied under the famous Regong artist Gendan Gyatso to learn Thangka painting. At the
age of 16, he had mastered the various skills of traditional Thangka painting. He has been
engaged in Thangka painting for more than 20 years.

2018 “Pure Land of Amitabha” set a new record in the Thangka industry by selling
for 3.2 million yuan at the Beijing Rongbaozhai auction.
