🧘♀️An 8-Week Journey into Mindfulness in New York
Reflections from the BTSAN PO MBSR Program
In the fast-paced, high-pressure rhythm of New York City, it’s not easy to find a space to slow down and breathe. In the spring of 2025, BTSAN PO proudly completed its first 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course in our Himalayan-inspired cultural space.
MBSR is a secular, evidence-based program developed at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. It’s designed to help participants return to the present moment—without judgment—and reconnect with themselves. Today, it's widely used in hospitals, schools, and wellness centers around the world.
🏔️ Why Practice at BTSAN PO?
Unlike online offerings, BTSAN PO emphasizes immersive in-person experiences. Our space is a peaceful retreat in the heart of Manhattan, designed with Himalayan aesthetics, a dedicated meditation chapel, and a serene atmosphere that supports deep, grounded practice.
The course is led by Janice Leng, a certified instructor from the Brown University Mindfulness Center. With a warm and professional teaching style, she creates a safe and supportive environment for inner exploration.
🌿 Voices from Our First Group
💬 “I honestly didn’t expect much—but I can’t believe how much has changed in 8 weeks.”
One participant, who came in with a stiff body and some resistance to breath-focused practices, found herself gradually opening up. By the end of the course, she felt more at ease in her body and could perform yoga poses she previously couldn’t. During sitting meditation, she became able to stay present with clarity.

“My favorite part of each session was the group sharing afterward. Listening to how others related the practice to their daily lives gave me new insights every week. I truly cherished growing together with everyone.”
